The PTA External Affairs Committee represents PS 9 and its families
within District 3 and the community at large. Our mission is to stay
informed on issues affecting District 3 schools (and schools
citywide), to protect our school's best interests, and to disseminate
information to PS 9 families.
This committee works with PTA executive board, PS 9 administration,
Community Education Council, Community Board 7, District 3 Presidents'
Council and the elected officials representing our community. New
members are always welcome!
PS 9 Parent Meeting with Chancellor Walcott on 6/20
The new Chancellor spent time at PS 9 on 6/20 to speak with us about the DOE's recent G&T phase-out announcement, space allocation within our building, rezoning, middle school and more. Follow-up efforts are in progress, some of which will take place in the fall. Thanks to the many families who attended this important meeting!
District 3 Town Hall on 5/23
Chancellor Walcott addressed a number of district-wide issues,
including the phase-out of PS 9's gifted & talented program, UWSA @
Brandeis, G&T testing process/timing, technology, health & wellness,
D3 Green Group and more. Thanks to the nearly 60 PS9ers who attended.
